The Schizophrenic Investor
This essay is an investing style you can employ to protect yourself from making decisions you regret and from falling victim to scams and hacks.
I have chosen the term schizophrenic not to mock, or downplay the actual ailment that some suffer from, but purely for the clickbaitability of it.
Beware of whos
All over crypto Twitter, or X if you will, you will find various accounts that are followed for their insight, humor, hentai, and influence. You should know that it is certain that multiple accounts are run but the same person, and some accounts are run by a group of individuals. They tweet and retweet themselves and each other. Amplifying their own reach.
Think deeply on this, and how you can trust them.
The various accounts are for projects also though.
Start with profiles.
This button is the key. When you want to separate the mentality of an account, you can start with a new profile in Chrome. Sometimes even create a new email and sometimes not. This is usually a result of whether a new email is needed to sign up for another account such as an X account.
In this new profile, you can even install a dedicated crypto wallet.
When changing to this new profile, try to change your mentality to match the desired outcome here.
The Personas
Each of the personas can have its own seed phrases and hardware wallet. Some of the personalities can also be found in the same Chrome profile, but in different wallet addresses, under the same seed phrase, or not.
Multiple personas WILL protect themselves from the foolish actions of other personas.
So let’s start talking about personalities.
The Low Risker
This profile is where you consider the fundamentals of projects that can truly be labeled investments. This profile takes long-term choices, and seldom sends transactions. It is the “think, think, make a choice, and wait it out,” one. This also can have a healthy amount of you ETH mainnet positions.
As a bonus, this profile can be funded with veVoting gains, if they are held. It might sometimes consider sending to the Mercenary.
The Mercenary
This profile likes to sit in very low risk assets, blue chips, and stablecoins. It is looking for one thing. Compounded ROIs. Yield aggregators such as Yearn and Beefy are tools of his trade. Correlated pools are nice for this guy too.
The Speculator
This profile considers the potential of mid-range holds. It likes to farm and hold. Usually putting farmed reward tokens to work for periods of time. There are also point system considerations here, but points are bonuses ONLY.
The Shitcoiner
This profile is the risk junkie. Sniping new tokens, and NFTs trading. It's the “in and out” style. It might be a good idea to even put leverage perp trading under his control
The Normie
This is your real-life profile. It's where you go to use your fiat banks, buy stuff on Amazon, and read the walls of text that your children’s teachers send to your email.
This also houses your Centralized Exchange account that can be used for offramping to fiat.
Consider You
This model is a thought experiment and is not something you must do to succeed. But there are certainly gems of thought here that might be found useful for you, where not so much for others. Find what works for you and adopt it, shedding that which doesn't.
